2 years agoWhen any series on the NASCAR circuit comes to a road course, one of the first names that pops into your mind is AJ Allmendinger. He has had a storied career of success at road courses throughout his NASCAR journey. Last year in the XFinity Series, Allmendinger found his way to victory lane and took the checkered flag to win the race. Over 10 road-course races in the NASCAR Cup Series last season, Allmendinger finished 10th or better five times and fifth or better three times. He won the race at Indy and finished second at Watkins Glen. Allmendinger will start the race at COTA on the fourth row, officially starting seventh.--Eric DeWilde
