5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright will not be able to make Friday's start due to a recurrence of back spasms. Daniel Poncedeleon will make the start in his place. For now, it is unclear just how serious Wainwright's back issue is. Outcomes range from having his start pushed back, missing a turn in the rotation, or even a stint on the injured list. The Cardinals will hopefully provide a more detailed update after Friday's game. Wainwright has maintained fantasy value in deeper formats this season, posting a 4.31 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 87 2/3 innings.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
