5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals manager Mike Shildt said that starting pitcher Adam Wainwright's (back) injury isn't very serious and there's a chance he could start on Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Wainwright was scratched on Friday due to spasms in favor of Daniel Poncedeleon. The good news is that it doesn't look like the veteran right-hander will need to go on the injured list. The 37-year-old has been hit or miss with a 4.31 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 82 K's in 87 2/3 innings over his 16 starts in 2019. The matchup against Arizona isn't a bad one if he takes the hill on Sunday, but he'll be a bit more risky due to his back injury in that one if he's cleared.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
