Adam Ottavino Touched Up On Tuesday
6 years agoColorado Rockies reliever Adam Ottavino has been one of the most dominant relievers in baseball this year when he's been healthy, but that wasn't enough on Tuesday. Ottavino was called on to bail the team out of a seventh-inning jam where the bases were loaded and there was only one out. A deep sacrifice fly allowed one run to score and give the Giants the lead at 2-1, but that was all the damage that was done. Unfortunately, the eighth inning finished the job as Ottavino would melt down and walk three straight batters to force home the eventual winning run. Ottavino was tagged for his first loss of the season, and it was only the second time this year that the previously wild reliever walked more than one in an appearance. Hopefully, it was just a hiccup.
