Adam Ottavino Converts Third Save
2 years agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Adam Ottavino was called upon to shut the door during Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Normally, David Robertson is the closer for the Mets, but he pitched during the eighth inning of this game. That being said, Ottavino was handed the ball to protect a three-run lead. The right-hander allowed a leadoff home run to David Peralta. However, he settled down after that and retired the next three batters to earn his third save of the season. The expectation is the Robertson will continue being the primary closer, but Ottavino looks like he's the No. 2 guy out of the pen.
