Adam Frazier Dealing With Bruised Foot
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates second baseman Adam Frazier (foot) was out of the lineup on Tuesday due to a bruised foot. He was hit in the foot on Monday and had it wrapped on Tuesday. Kevin Newman replaced Frazier at second base and hit leadoff on Tuesday against the Reds. It sounds like Frazier's injury is just something that will keep him day-to-day for now. The 27-year-old has been very mediocre for those in deeper fantasy leagues this year, hitting .255 with only three home runs, 27 runs, 13 RBI and two stolen bases in 192 at-bats.

Adam Frazier Faces Live Pitching On Wednesday
1 month agoPittsburgh Pirates second baseman/outfielder Adam Frazier (thumb) was seen taking live batting practice off right-hander Mitch Keller on Wednesday. Frazier appears to be a full-go in spring training after signing a one-year, $1.525 million deal to return to the Pirates last month. The 33-year-old veteran was drafted by Pittsburgh in the sixth round back in 2013 out of Mississippi State University and spent the first five full seasons of his MLB career with the team before being traded to the San Diego Padres in 2021. He had a career-worst .576 OPS in 104 games with the Kansas City Royals in 2024 and added just four home runs, 22 RBI and three steals in 294 plate appearances. Now back in Pittsburgh, Frazier will operate in a utility role for the Bucs and should be avoided in all mixed fantasy leagues. In addition to a career-worst OPS last year, he also sported a career-worst strikeout rate.

Adam Frazier Agrees To One-Year Deal With Pirates
2 months agoFree-agent infielder Adam Frazier agreed to a one-year, $1.525 million deal on Tuesday with the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to a source. Frazier will be returning to the team that drafted him in the sixth round back in 2013 out of Mississippi State University. The 33-year-old veteran second baseman/outfielder played the first five full seasons of his MLB career in Pittsburgh and will now return as a utility infielder/outfielder. Frazier did have a career-high 13 home runs in 2023 with the Baltimore Orioles, but he's never been much of a threat on offense for fantasy managers with a career .264/.327/.385 slash line and .713 OPS in nine big-league seasons. He hit a lowly .202 (53-for-262) with only four homers and 22 RBI in 104 games with the Kansas City Royals in 2024. Frazier won't be on the fantasy radar at all in mixed leagues in 2025.

Royals Decline Option On Adam Frazier
5 months agoKansas City Royals second baseman/outfielder Adam Frazier had his 2025 club option declined and will instead head to free agency according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. Frazier had the worst season of his MLB career in 2024 as he hit for an underwhelming .202/.282/.294 slash line with just ten doubles, four home runs, and three swiped bags. From 2021 through 2023, Frazier hit at least 20 doubles in each season. The 32-year-old also saw his underlying metrics decline as he posted a 2.9% barrel rate and 22.8% hard-hit rate, which were both lower than his 2023 totals. Frazier should be left off your fantasy radar in 2025 given his drop in batting average and minimal power output.

Adam Frazier To Have Thumb Surgery
6 months agoKansas City Royals infielder/outfielder Adam Frazier (thumb), who has an $8.5 million mutual option for the 2025 season (with a $2.5 million buyout), is having surgery on his right thumb this week, according to general manager J.J. Picollo. Frazier strained his thumb in June and received an injection to speed up the recovery process, but he didn't miss any time the rest of the year. Barring a setback over the winter, the 32-year-old veteran should be ready to go for the start of spring training next February. The nine-year MLB veteran will be a utility player for the Royals again in 2025 if he decides to exercise his option and return for a second season in KC. Fantasy-wise, Frazier isn't relevant in mixed leagues at this point in his career after slashing a weak .202/.282/.294 with a career-low .576 OPS in 104 games in 2024. He added only four home runs, 22 RBI and 35 runs scored.
