Columbus Blue Jackets center Adam Fantilli scored a hat trick during their victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday evening. Fantilli opened the scoring with a power-play in the first period. Later in the second, Fantilli would find the back of the net again, this time during 5-on-5 play. Later in the third, Fantilli would score the empty-netter to put the game out of reach. Since the start of January, the 20-year-old has scored 11 points (seven goals, four helpers) across 10 contests. During this span, he has averaged 2.7 shots on goal per game and has held a +8 rating. The former third-overall pick has begun to find his footing at the NHL level. He remains a must-start player in all standard formats as he continues this stretch. He will look to stay hot on Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Adam Fantilli practiced with the team for the first time since suffering a calf laceration on Jan. 28 against the Seattle Kraken. However, the rookie will not play in the team's final regular season game on Tuesday against the Carolina Hurricanes. Fantilli was originally given an eight-week timeline after Kraken forward Jared McCann's skate accidentally made contact with Fantilli's calf but will end up missing the final 33 games of the regular season. "I was trying to get back for anything that I could, it just wasn't quite there yet," Fantilli said on Monday. The 2023 third-overall pick's rookie season concludes with 12 goals and 27 points on 115 shots on goal through 49 contests.

Columbus Blue Jackets center Adam Fantilli may not return to the lineup again this season due to a calf laceration suffered in a Jan. 28 game against the Seattle Kraken. The third-overall pick of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft has recorded 12 goals and 27 points in 49 games this season, quality numbers for a 19-year-old considering the Blue Jackets rank 26th with 2.84 goals per game on the season. Of course, there's no reason to rush the prized pivot back into the lineup considering the Blue Jackets sit 29th overall in the NHL with a 23-38-12 record, which is also good for last in the Eastern Conference.
