Adalberto Mondesi Makes Error At Shortstop
7 years agoKansas City Royals rookie Adalberto Mondesi got his first start at shortstop on Friday, and he made his first error of the season on an errant throw in the eighth inning. The error left dangerous Jose Altuve in scoring position, but reliever Justin Grimm coaxed a fly-ball out to end the inning. Mondesi is obviously the team's future in the middle infield, so the error likely won't impact his chance to gather a few starts at the position each week, but it certainly doesn't help support his case. He also scored the team's only run and stole a base, so at least he made up for it on offense.
