5 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (shoulder) is likely to be activated from the injured list when rosters expand on Sunday. Manager Ned Yost said the team doesn't want Mondesi diving for balls or diving into the bases for the rest of the season. The 24-year-old phenom has been out since July 16, so fantasy owners are really chomping at the bit to get him back in their lineups. He can do a bit of everything, hitting .266/.294/.433 with seven home runs, 48 runs, 52 RBI and 31 stolen bases. Mondesi has plenty of power, but the one weakness in his game is the fact that he's a free swinger, leading to a lot of strikeouts and a low on-base percentage.
