Kansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (oblique) could be activated from the injured list late next week, according to Vahe Gregorian of the Kansas City Star. Gregorian reports that Royals general manager Dayton Moore and advisor Rafael Belliard have been in Arkansas observing Mondesi's progress, with Belliard stating that Mondesi could return by May 18, while Moore says he believes the best-case scenario for Mondesi would see him activated on May 21. Regardless of which day it is, it sounds like Mondesi is very close to a return to action, much to the relief of fantasy managers who have anxiously been awaiting his speed on the basepaths.--Michael
