6 years agoKansas City Royals rookie second baseman/shortstop Adalberto Mondesi slapped a single, stole a base, and booted a pair of balls that led to four unearned runs on Thursday. Mondesi was getting the chance to play shortstop, and he once again struggled defensively. Manager Ned Yost dismissed questions about Mondesi's defense after the game, but it should be a bit of a concern since he's pegged to be the heir apparent at one of the most critical defensive positions on the field. Fortunately, he's currently on fire at the plate, hitting .435 with two home runs and two stolen bases over his last six games. That'll cover a lot of errors.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
