Abraham Toro Hits Grand Slam In Rehab Game
4 months agoOakland Athletics third baseman Abraham Toro (hamstring) went 2-for-4 with a grand slam, four RBI and a run scored in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Wednesday. In addition to hitting a grand slam, Toro played all seven innings at second base in his second rehab game. Before being reinstated from the 10-day injured list, Toro is probably going to need to play at least a few games at a higher minor-league affiliate, but the 27-year-old infielder is nearing a return to the big leagues in the second half of the season. When the A's feel he's ready, the Canadian should return to regular duties at the hot corner in Oakland, giving him fantasy value at least in AL-only leagues. Before his hamstring injury, Toro was hitting .260/.303/.386 with six home runs, 24 RBI and three stolen bases in 277 at-bats near the top of the A's batting order.
