Aaron Nola Secures Sixth Win On Thursday

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola picked up the win on Thursday when he allowed four runs on six hits with nine strikeouts and one walk over 6 2/3 innings in a 5-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Nola was stellar in this start outside of a rough third inning when he allowed all four runs. The majority of the damage came on a Ketel Marte three-run shot in that frame but Nola pretty much shut down the D-Backs before and after that. The nine punchouts were his third-highest total of the season and he was able to pick up his sixth win of the year. Overall, the 30-year-old hurler owns a 4.66 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 93:24 K/BB ratio over 94 2/3 innings (15 starts). He'll take on the Braves, who tagged him for five earned runs the last he faced them, at home in his next start on Wednesday.
