Aaron Nola Secures Sixth Win On Thursday
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola picked up the win on Thursday when he allowed four runs on six hits with nine strikeouts and one walk over 6 2/3 innings in a 5-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Nola was stellar in this start outside of a rough third inning when he allowed all four runs. The majority of the damage came on a Ketel Marte three-run shot in that frame but Nola pretty much shut down the D-Backs before and after that. The nine punchouts were his third-highest total of the season and he was able to pick up his sixth win of the year. Overall, the 30-year-old hurler owns a 4.66 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 93:24 K/BB ratio over 94 2/3 innings (15 starts). He'll take on the Braves, who tagged him for five earned runs the last he faced them, at home in his next start on Wednesday.
