Philadelphia Phillies ace Aaron Nola got off to an inauspicious start Friday night against the Atlanta Braves. The 24-year-old allowed the first three runners to reach base before recording an out. By the time the first out was made, a run was already home. He would surrender two more runs before the frame came to a close, falling into an early hole. Fortunately for Nola, his offense matched Atlanta’s, scoring three runs to quickly draw even. Over the next five innings, he was masterful, conceding just one hit. In his last inning of work, he allowed three more hits, but escaped without a run allowed. For the night, Nola went seven innings, only allowing the aforementioned three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four.--RDelgado
