Aaron Jones Limited in Practice
6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (hamstring) suited up for practice on Monday for the second consecutive day. However, he did not finish practice and watched the final period from the sidelines. This appears to be a precautionary measure and he is expected to begin practicing in full soon. Jones is suspended the first two weeks of the NFL season and he will be in a tough competition for snaps with Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams when he finally does return. Jones is an explosive runner who has maybe the highest upside of any running back in Green Bay. However, he has struggled with pass protection in the past. If he is unable to improve in that area he is unlikely to see the field. Presumably he has improved that area of his game over the offseason, but we have yet to see any evidence of this because of his absence in practice due to the hamstring injury. Jones should only be considered a late-round flyer in most circumstances.
