Aaron Hicks Will Miss Opening Day
6 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks (back) said on Sunday that he will miss the first series of the regular season due to a lower back injury. The 29-year-old hasn't played in a Grapefruit League game since March 1 and had two cortisone shots within the last week. The team's starting center fielder hit .248/.366/.467 with 27 home runs and 79 RBI in 137 games last year and remains an intriguing outfielder in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts. His checkered injury history presents some risk, but he could come at an even nicer value now. Brett Gardner could shift to center while Giancarlo Stanton plays left field until Hicks is ready to return.
