Aaron Hicks Smacks Go-Ahead Home Run
6 years agoAfter he scored the game’s opening run off Giancarlo Stanton’s RBI single in the first, Aaron Hicks and the New York Yankees found themselves trailing by a run three innings later. In the fifth, Hicks stepped back up to the plate with pitcher Sonny Gray on and picked up his starting pitcher. The 28-year-old drilled a 405-foot home run to right field, instantly putting his team up a run. It was his ninth home run of the season, while he now has 30 RBI. Hicks and the Yankees would emerge victorious, 4-2, putting themselves back at 25 games over .500.
