Aaron Civale Ready For A Live Bullpen
2 years agoCleveland Guardians righty Aaron Civale (oblique) will go to the team's Spring Training facility on Monday before throwing a live bullpen on Tuesday, according to MLB.com. If the bullpen goes well, president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti told reporters that they'll clear the 27-year-old for a simulated game. Fantasy managers should assume Civale will need a couple of rehab starts before returning to the Guardians, so he likely won't be back until early June. He hit the injured list with a left oblique strain in early April, but before the ailment, the former third-rounder was 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA, 16% strikeout rate, and 1.04 WHIP over two starts and 12.2 innings. Civale can be dropped if there's limited injured list room, especially in shallow formats.
