Aaron Civale Goes Three Innings In His First Rehab Start
2 years agoCleveland Guardians starting pitcher Aaron Civale (oblique) began his rehab assignment on Thursday with Triple-A Columbus and pitched three innings. The righty gave up a pair of hits with no walks and four strikeouts in a successful appearance. It's unclear how many games Civale needs before returning to the Majors, but there's a chance he returns before the calendar flips to June. Before going down with a left oblique strain following his April 7 start, the 27-year-old posted a 2.84 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with eight punchouts over 12.2 innings. Civale isn't the most exciting arm, but he can offer decent value in every category as a deeper league option.
