A.J. Pollock Targeting July 12 For Return
5 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder A.J. Pollock (elbow) is targeting July 12 -- the second-half opener against the Red Sox -- for his activation from the injured list. He's expecting to take his first at-bats against live pitching this weekend. Pollock is slowly but surely recovering from an infection in his elbow and should be available as the team's primary center fielder for the second half of the season. His return could cause Joc Pederson to be used more often at first base in order to keep Alex Verdugo's bat in the lineup. Pollock was hitting a disappointing .223 with two homers and 14 RBI in his first 103 at-bats with the Dodgers, but his power/speed combination plays in most leagues when he's healthy in a strong Dodgers lineup.
