A.J. Minter Records Four-Out Save On Wednesday
5 years agoAtlanta Braves reliever A.J. Minter picked up the save on Wednesday during a 5-3 win over the Chicago Cubs. Minter entered the game in the eighth inning with runners on first and second. He struck out Victor Caratini to end the threat and then tossed a perfect ninth inning to earn his fourth save of the campaign. While Luke Jackson is still expected to be the primary closer going forward, Minter and Anthony Swarzak could factor into the equation. For now, leave Minter on the waiver wire, but his 2.45 ERA through eight appearances in June suggests he has turned it around.
