4 years agoAtlanta Braves reliever A.J. Minter recorded his fifth hold of the season on Monday as the club held on to defeat the Chicago Cubs by the score of 8-7. The hard-throwing lefty has had an up-and-down season with two blown saves and five runs allowed in 10 1/3 innings. He's missed some bats with a 23% strikeout rate but he's also inducing ground-balls at a high rate (51%) which has helped him avoid the home run ball. Minter is coming off a 2020 season that saw him post a 0.83 ERA with a 28% strikeout rate in 22 games. He isn't an elite option out of the bullpen in fantasy leagues but he could help as a back-up option given that he appears in line for significant high-leverage usage.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
