1 year agoA.J. Allmendinger expected a better effort in qualifying but still finished tenth on Saturday. The Kaulig Racing driver won on the Indy Racing Course two years ago in one of the most chaotic NASCAR finishes of all time. Also, Allmendinger has ended up ninth or better in five of his last six road events. The No. 16 Chevy driver can start from almost anywhere. He has netted top-ten results from as far back as 34th. That resulted in a seventh at Daytona in 2021. Allmendinger is hard to count out on a street course like Chicago. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
