Thunder Dan's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Tuesday, 4/22/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.
All 30 MLB teams are in action tonight, with 20 of those teams featured on the main MLB DFS slate on both FanDuel and DraftKings.
The Rockies are on the road, so we don't have to worry about the Coors Field park factor. The wind is blowing out at Wrigley, though only around five mph, but that could help boost offensive numbers for the Cubs and Dodgers. While the best hitting conditions could be in Sacramento, where the Athletics are taking on the Texas Rangers.
This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/22/2025, with the slate starting at 7:10 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will feature elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Chris Bassitt, TOR vs. HOU ($9K DK/$10.6K FD)
Some might balk at this price on Bassitt today, but I think he's appropriately priced as the top arm on the slate given what he's done so far in the 2025 season. Bassitt leads all pitchers today in SIERA with a 2.44 mark and in K% at 33%. All of his underlying metrics look good, so this doesn't seem fluky to me, despite his track record as being just a fairly average pitcher for most of his career.
If it were a tougher matchup, then I might support a fade of Bassitt, but Houston's offense ranks 25th overall in wRC+ vs. RHP. They touched up Gausman a bit yesterday and perhaps it's a sign of them slowly starting to turn it around. But Bassitt is a completely different pitcher who has an arsenal full of breaking balls and off-speed pitches at his disposal. I expect him to continue to pitch well today, and I think he's a solid investment for cash games.
Kris Bubic, KCR vs. COL ($8.9K DK/$10K FD)
The other high-priced pitcher today that I love is Kris Bubic. This is easily the most we have ever paid for Bubic in his career, as he's enjoying a breakout of his own in the 2025 season.
Bubic has the fourth-best SIERA (3.46) and fifth-best K% (26%) on the board today, but also has the best possible matchup here against the Rockies. Colorado has the fifth-worst wRC+ vs. LHP (67) and the second-worst strikeout rate at 30%.
Bubic's strikeout prop is set to 7.5 today, which tells us that his strikeout floor is quite high. He's also a heavy home favorite at -220. There's a good chance that we can get six quality innings out of Bubic tonight and at least a strikeout per inning. Those numbers will play, and with a lack of value at the starting pitcher position tonight, I am paying up for my arms on this slate.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):
- Cristopher Sanchez, PHI ($8.7K DK/$9.9K FD)
- Bailey Ober, MIN ($6.9K DK/$8.9K FD)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Pavin Smith, 1B/OF - ARI ($4.6K DK/$3K FD)
The Diamondbacks' first baseman is hitting .382 so far and has been a key component to Arizona's strong start offensively. He's still relatively affordable in DFS, especially on FanDuel, where he is also eligible in the outfield.
I like attacking Littell today as his contact metrics are quite bad, and the Snakes are making a ton of hard contact while not striking out all that much. Smith is a key component of any Snakes stack or just a solid cash game play as a one-off.
Jacob Wilson, SS - ATH ($3.3K DK/$3K FD)
Wilson has a hit in all but one game this season and has worked his batting average up to an impressive .354 mark as a result. He has multiple hits in three of his last four and should slide up to the fifth spot in the order against lefty Patrick Corbin.
The last two MLB players to have any span of 21 games with 82+ plate appearances, 0 walks, and no more than 3 strikeouts:

Jacob Wilson (2025) <--- his first 21 games this year! pic.twitter.com/yUg4ZaG9g2— Codify (@CodifyBaseball) April 21, 2025
Wilson is too cheap for his floor. He's one of the better values on this slate for cash games. You are not likely to take a zero with Wilson's ability to hit and the fact that he's facing a pitcher like Corbin, who doesn't miss bats anymore.
Luke Keaschall, 2B - MIN ($3K DK/$2K FD)
The rookie is off to a solid start with four hits in three games since being activated. He's even stolen a base, too. The Twins badly need to get their offense jump-started and have shown no hesitation to get young players in there who can hit, with Brooks Lee taking over at third base, too.
Davis Martin is one of the worst pitchers on the slate today. As much as I want to stack the Twins, I may just play a few hitters here and there since they have been so cold, with the cheaper guys being more attractive and Buxton being a viable one-off, too.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):
- Caleb Durbin, 2B/3B - MIL ($2.3K DK/$2.3K FD)
- Corey Seager, SS - TEX ($4.3K DK/$3.1K FD)
- Josh Naylor, 1B - ARI ($5.1K DK/$3.3K FD)
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Heliot Ramos, OF - SFG ($3.9K DK/$3.2K FD)
Ramos always leads off against lefties, and I love his matchup today at home against Jose Quintana. Ramos crushed LHP last season, and we haven't seen him replicate those numbers yet, but I think they are coming with more plate appearances.
He's dual-threat with home run power and some stolen base upside. The price is right here, and I'm starting all my Giants stacks with Ramos and considering him as a cash game play as well.
Christian Yelich, OF - MIL ($4.8K DK/$3.6K FD)
Staying in the same game, I like the Milwaukee lefties against Jordan Hicks. While Hicks has some decent surface stats, he has the third-worst hard-hit rate on the slate at 53%. He throws hard, but he's not missing too many bats (9% SwStr%). Hicks has also allowed a .406 wOBA to lefties so far and Yelich is a guy who can turn around a fastball in a hurry.
Chandler Simpson, OF - TBR ($3K DK/$2.4K FD)
There's a lot of hype surrounding the Rays' rookie, mainly regarding his speed. While I may not be sold on him as a pick-up in season-long leagues, I think he's a compelling DFS play today against Brandon Pfaadt, who has struggled with lefties in his career.
Simpson is so cheap that if he gets on base via hit or walk and steals a base, he's going to crush his pricetag. I'd consider him in cash games as I expect him to be a popular option if he leads off.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):
- Corbin Carroll, OF - ARI ($6.1K DK/$4.4K FD)
- Jorge Soler, OF - LAA ($4.4K DK/$3.1K FD)
- Byron Buxton, OF - MIN ($4.7K DK/$3.6K FD)
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
1. Athletics vs. Patrick Corbin
Picking on Corbin burned me in his last start as he was surprisngly effective, but I think it's more than likely that was an outlier performance from him.
The Athletics have the fourth-best wRC+ vs. LHP and a crop of strong right-handed hitters who can punish Corbin today. I'll mix in the lefties Soderstrom and Butler, too, but give the righties preference when building your stacks.
This ballpark might be the best hitting environment in the league tonight. And with Corbin on the mound, we could see the A's break the slate.
Favorite Combo: Rooker, Soderstrom, Langeliers, Wilson
2. Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Zack Littell
Littell has made two good starts and two pretty bad starts so far. His overall numbers still aren't very good in terms of contact metrics as he's allowing the worst barrel% on the slate at 14.3% and a 5.36 xERA.
Arizona has a lethal lineup against RHP and currently sports the fourth-best wRC+ against righties. You can stack up lefties here pretty easily, though, if you want to include some righties, I should note that Littell has allowed more power to RHH.
Favorite Combo: Carroll, Perdomo, Smith, Naylor
3. San Francisco Giants vs. Jose Quintana
I know Quintana can be a troll at times, but I think he's going to be a guy I target with hitters as long as Milwaukee continues to roll him out there. Through two starts he has just a 4% SwStr% and a 93% Z-Contact%. He's not missing bats, and the Giants have a bevy of good hitters who can square him up. I'm rolling the righties here, but don't skip the red-hot lefty Jung Hoo Lee in your stacks!
Favorite Combo: Ramos, Lee, Chapman, Flores, Fitzgerald
