BALLER MOVE: Stash in dynasty leagues
CALL-UP ETA: August/September
ANALYSIS: Save for Jackson Holliday, Rays infielder Junior Caminero was the talk of the prospect pool entering the 2024 season after making his big-league debut at just 19 years of age in 2023. Unfortunately, his 2024 campaign has not gone as he, the Rays, or fantasy managers had envisioned.
MLB Pipeline's No. 3 ranked prospect missed roughly six weeks with a quad injury and has seen his OPS dip from .921 at Double-A last season to .802 this season in just 36 games at Triple-A. In eight games since returning from the injured list, the 20-year-old has only five hits but four of them have gone for homers while the other went for a double. He also has five walks against five strikeouts since coming back.
Junior Caminero (@RaysBaseball) continues to roll 🔥

His uneven season and lengthy absence could push his return to the big leagues back in 2024. The Rays could opt to keep Caminero in the minors for the foreseeable future until he can build some consistency, or perhaps the upcoming trade deadline will alter those plans.
At this point, an August or September promotion appears to be the likeliest of outcomes but with every passing day, his value to redraft managers shrinks. He remains a clear stash in dynasty leagues but redraft managers don't have the same luxury of time.
