Chargers vs. Raiders Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Monday Night - Justin Herbert, Omarion Hampton, Ashton Jeanty, Ladd McConkey, Keenan Allen, Jakobi Meyers

Justin Herbert - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Fantasy football start em, sit em MNF lineups advice for Chargers vs. Raiders on Monday Night Football in Week 2 (2025). NFL matchups analysis and MNF starts/sits.

The last game of the Week 2 NFL slate is a fun one between AFC West rivals, and two of fantasy football's most exciting rookies, Ashton Jeanty and Omarion Hampton, will square off. With several fantasy-relevant players featured here, this game will decide a ton of matchups.

Below, read about the fantasy football outlooks for key players like Justin Herbert, Omarion Hampton, Ashton Jeanty, Ladd McConkey, Keenan Allen, and Jakobi Meyers. Which Chargers and Raiders players should you start or sit in Week 2?

We will bring you Monday Night Football analysis all season, focusing on who to start, who is on the fence, and who should find the bench. Good luck in your second 2025 fantasy football week, RotoBallers!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas Raiders

Monday, September 15th, 10:00 PM ET

Notable Injuries:

Matchups We Love

WR Ladd McConkey

It was a solid fantasy showing from Ladd McConkey last week. He caught six passes for 74 yards and played both outside and in the slot. Given McConkey's high fantasy floor in this Los Angeles offense, he should be started everywhere in Week 2.

WR Keenan Allen

Allen is one of the most interesting players after Week 1 because it appears he will be fantasy-relevant this year. He saw a team-high 10 targets while catching seven of those targets for 68 yards. Don't forget, it was just two years ago that Allen finished as a WR1 in fantasy. So, the 33-year-old veteran will be a solid flex play against a Raiders offense that allowed 14.1 PPR fantasy points in the slot last week.

Matchups We Hate

RB Ashton Jeanty

No, you aren't sitting, Jeanty, because he's in this section. However, expectations should be tempered for the exciting rookie. The Chargers allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs last year, and the Chiefs chose not to run against this vicious front seven last week. That makes Jeanty more of an RB2 play on Monday.

Other Notable Matchups

QB Justin Herbert

Herbert should be considered a QB1 in fantasy until further notice. He just finished as the QB5 last week, and the Chargers were much more pass-heavy than we all anticipated. Now, he will go up against a Raiders defense that he torched for 346 yards and two touchdowns in the final game of last season. While this is a new year, Maye just threw for 287 yards against this secondary.

QB Geno Smith

Smith looked solid in his Las Vegas debut last week, throwing for 362 yards and one touchdown. On paper, this might seem like a tough matchup against an excellent Chargers defense. But Los Angeles has actually struggled to stop opposing QBs in fantasy since last year. With Mahomes scoring 26 fantasy points against this secondary last week, Smith is a middle-of-the-pack QB2 option.

RB Omarion Hampton

Hampton was definitely inefficient on the ground in his NFL debut. He averaged just 3.2 yards per carry, which led to a modest 8.1 PPR fantasy point day. However, the positives are that he touched the ball 17 times and played 80% of the team's offensive snaps. Even though Najee Harris is expected to see more chances moving forward, Hampton will be an RB2 this week in a much better matchup.

WR Jakobi Meyers

Jakobi Meyers will remain a high-floor WR play for fantasy managers this week. He caught eight passes for 97 yards last week and could see even more opportunities his way if Brock Bowers (knee) were to miss this contest. If you need a safe WR play in fantasy this week, go with Meyers in this AFC West divisional game.

WR Quentin Johnston

Is Quentin Johnston finally breaking out? While it is too early to answer that question, Johnston was one of the biggest waiver wire additions this past week following a five-catch, 79-yard, two-touchdown performance. It might be hard to rely on him to put up those numbers again, but the Chargers seem to want to get him involved on offense. That's enough to make him a potential flex play in 12-plus team leagues.

TE Brock Bowers

Bowers left last week's game early due to a knee injury. If he plays, you are absolutely starting him. If he misses, be sure to have a backup plan since this is a Monday night game. Michael Mayer could be a nice fill-in if Bowers can't go. Mayer caught four passes for 38 yards last week.

More Chargers vs. Raiders Fantasy Football Outlooks

TE Michael Mayer

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer may be due for an elevated workload this Monday night when he faces off against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mayer saw an increased snapshare in Week 1's win over the New England Patriots when teammate Brock Bowers (knee) picked up a knee injury. Bowers was tagged with a DNP on Thursday, and with the Raiders playing on Monday night, it's possible we won't know his definitive status in time for Sunday roster decisions.

In the case he can't go, Mayer would slot in as Las Vegas' de facto TE1 and should see a good bit of work in the passing game. If Bowers plays, the Notre Dame product would be difficult to trust, particularly in a difficult matchup. Mayer comes in as RotoBaller's PPR TE39 ahead of Week 2.

RB Najee Harris

Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris saw limited action in Week 1, with just one carry and one catch, each for five yards. He was gradually brought back into the lineup after a limited offseason following a superficial eye injury in July. Harris has been practicing in full and is ready to take on a further workload against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night.

Although the veteran's conditioning and readiness for the game may have improved, with Omarion Hampton clearly established as the lead back, Harris's workload should stay limited for another week. RotoBaller projects him as RB45, and fantasy managers should keep him on their bench in Week 2 against Las Vegas while monitoring his role in the Chargers' backfield in the upcoming weeks.

K Cameron Dicker

Los Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker had a perfect outing in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, scoring nine points with two field goals and three converted extra points. This week, the Chargers are projected to score around 25 points against the Las Vegas Raiders, setting Dicker up for another productive day. He is a reliable kicker on a high-scoring offense, which makes him a valuable asset in fantasy football. RotoBaller projects Dicker as K2 this week and should be started with confidence.

WR Dont'e Thornton Jr.

Las Vegas Raiders rookie wide receiver Dont'e Thornton Jr. was quiet in the team's Week 1 win over New England, logging just two catches on four targets for 45 yards while playing 60% of the snaps. Encouragingly, he drew more targets than Tre Tucker despite fewer snaps, and the Raiders leaned on the passing game as Geno Smith threw for 362 yards. With Chip Kelly determined to stretch the field, Thornton's speed keeps him in play as a stash with big-play potential.

The Week 2 matchup adds intrigue, as the Chargers just allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers in Week 1, giving Thornton an outside chance to make noise if he sees increased usage. Until his role grows, he's best kept on benches, but the upside is worth monitoring.
