Most leagues require you to start nine pitchers altogether between starters and relievers. There is a plethora of pitching talent in 2024, but only a few aces stand out. Spencer Strider, Gerrit Cole, and Corbin Burnes are the only pitchers ranked in tier one.
Seattle Mariners right-hander George Kirby was a highly touted prospect and delivered for fantasy managers in 2023. The 25-year-old owned a 3.35 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and a 172: 19 K: BB across 190 2/3 innings. Kirby will take the next step and become an ace for most fantasy teams, as RotoBaller currently ranks him as the eighth-best pitcher. Detroit Tigers southpaw Tarik Skubal underwent flexor tendon surgery in August 2022 and made his 2023 season debut in July. The 27-year-old was impressive in his return from injury, posting a 2.80 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and a 102: 14 K: BB across 80 1/3 innings last season.
