We have a big Sunday main slate today with 11 of the 15 games happening early. Half the guys I think will play will not, so you have to be as flexible as Gumby to play MLB DFS in September, but that also means that there is a lot of money out there should you dare to dive in those waters. That's why we're here.
There are nine games on the main slate for tonight's action. Five pitchers tip the scales on DraftKings at five figures. Six of them weigh in over that mark on FanDuel. So, hey...at least we have some nice pitching on this slate! That makes it easier.
As always, this article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Sunday's main slate locks at 1:10 pm EST on 9/18/2022. The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack! You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all of that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Jacob deGrom vs. PIT ($11,900 DK and FD)
There is no wrong answer when it comes to the aces today, but deGrom is always the right answer. Even though the Mets are keeping his pitch count in the 90s, deGrom has the highest floor on the slate and it's not close. If you are chasing the ceiling, you might get it from Framber or even Spencer Strider. If you are looking for a guaranteed 30, it's deGrom.
Jordan Montgomery vs. CIN ($7,900 DK, $9,200 FD)
The strikeouts are the only thing keeping Montgomery from being elite. He can record outs with the best of them, but whereas the top guys today will all flirt with double-digit K's, Montgomery won't be one of those. However, he does a great job of preventing runs. Aside from a hiccup against the Braves and the Brewers, Montgomery has been superb with the Cardinals. There's no reason for that not to continue against the Reds today.
Also consider: Spencer Strider, Sandy Alcantara, Nick Pivetta

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - 1B, TOR vs. Dean Kremer ($5,300 DK, $3,900 FD)
The Jays aren't catching the Yankees, but they are still trying to hang on in the wild card. Guerrero is still hitting for average, but he only has one homer so far in September. That could change here. Three of Vlad's four hits off of Dean Kremer have left the yard. Kremer, like most Baltimore pitchers, has been much worse on the road this year. Things are lining up nicely for Vladdy.
Marcus Semien - 2B, TEX vs. Jeffrey Springs ($4,900 DK, $3,900 FD)
Texas has already clinched a losing season, which is not what they had in mind following the signings of Semien and Corey Seager. Semien is finally heating up, hitting .356 with a pair of homers and eight RBI in the last 10 games. His 21 homers and 73 RBI do leave something to be desired after last year's monster season, but that doesn't mean he won't close 2022 strong. Of course, the fact that he has five hits in 10 tries with three homers in his career against Springs doesn't hurt any either.
Eduardo Escobar - 3B, NYM vs. Johan Oviedo ($4,100 DK, $3,100 FD)
I'm going back to the well in a couple of spots today, and one of those is with Escobar. His scorching September continued last night with a homer and three RBI. Escobar is hitting .393 this month with a third of his 18 homers coming in this month. The Mets want to win these games that they should against teams like Pittsburgh so they can rest down the stretch. Escobar is going a long way towards helping that goal.
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Yordan Alvarez - OF, HOU vs. Ken Waldichuk ($6,200 DK, $4,600 FD)
Yordan has double-digit fantasy points in each of the last six games he has played in. He homered in his first three at-bats on Friday and added another last night. The odds of him doing that again? Not terrible. Alvarez has destroyed any pitcher in his path wearing an A's jersey this year. In 14 games against the Athletics, Yordan is hitting .412 with seven homers, 13 RBI, and even stole a base! He is averaging a homer's worth of points in every game against Oakland this season. Yordan is prone to long hot streaks. He's in the middle of one right now.
Oscar Gonzalez - OF, CLE vs. Joe Ryan ($3,700 DK, $3,500 FD)
I like the discount on Gonzalez on DK better, so this is more of a DK-only play for me. Gonzalez has caught fire of late. Four of his nine homers on the season have come in the last 10 games. Ryan has had a 5.00 ERA since August 1st, so it's not like he's pitching well either. I like Gonzalez to keep the hot streak going here.
Chad Pinder - OF, OAK at Framber Valdez ($2,100 DK, $2,100 FD)
Pinder still plays against lefties and even some righties. He hit his 11th homer of the season last night and could be in for another tonight. The A's only have two career homers as a team against Framber Valdez. Both of them were hit by Pinder. We need a way to save some money with pitching so expensive today. A cheap and likely low-owned Pinder could help out a lot.
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
Here are my top stacks for tonight (in the order in which I like them):
New York Yankees - Jason Alexander has allowed eight runs in 10 innings over his last two starts. Those were against Cincinnati and Arizona, who are not exactly the 1927 A's. The Yankees are mostly coasting right now. Aaron Judge hasn't homered since Tuesday, but he could get back into the seats here if you're willing to fade Yordan. Gleyber Torres and Isaiah Kiner-Falefa are the other low-hanging fruit for the Yankees.
Houston Astros - The wheels fell off for Waldichuk on Tuesday as the Rangers tagged him for five runs in five innings. He's a fly-ball pitcher, which is not good in just about any road venue. Houston is no exception. Along with Yordan, Kyle Tucker is also hitting well of late. The only Astros that I would actively avoid today are the ice-cold Christian Vazquez and Jose Altuve. All others are fair game.
Honorable mention: Miami Marlins
