We have a dozen games on tap for our college basketball tournaments today. We open with nooners in Knoxville, hosting the dysfunctional Kentucky team. We have Seton Hall in Chicago to take on DePaul. Miami is up in Raleigh to take on the Pack. West Virginia heads to Norman to take on the Sooners. Georgia heads to Oxford to take on the Rebels. Indiana hosts the Badgers to close out the noon slate.
The afternoon starts with Arkansas in Nashville to take on Vandy. Providence is in the Bird Cage to take on Creighton. North Carolina heads to Louisville. K-State heads to Fort Worth for another purple party. Central Florida heads to Nawlins to take on the Wave. We close this out with Pitt in Hot-lanta to take on the Wreck.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/14/23, starting at noon Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.
DraftKings CBB DFS Guards
Markquis Nowell, Kansas State ($10,200)
Nowell was playing well before conference play, but he has taken it to another level in Big 12(10) play. Nowell has 215 DraftKings points in the first four conference games. We don't care who it's against. The strength of the Big 12(10) is well documented. Oklahoma State slowed him down to 41.25 DraftKings points. That's a hell of a floor!
Jaylen Forbes, Tulane ($7,500)
Tulane is one of the faster-paced teams in the country right now and it has helped boost Forbes' scoring totals. He has scored 114 points in the last five games. That's real points, not including his very good peripheral stats. I'm riding the hot hand of Forbes on a hot team in Tulane that has scored at least 87 points in four straight games.
Mike James, Louisville ($5,800)
Ellis has gotten most of the attention for Louisville playing better since getting blasted by Kentucky, but James has put up numbers that rival Ellis in the last three games and he is a fraction of the price. James has 97.75 DraftKings in the three games since the calendar flipped to 2023. If you want a piece of the Cardinals in this one (I recommend it), James is a cheap way to run back a Carolina stack.
Noah Locke, Providence ($4,600)
Locke has put up some big numbers so far in January. He has played a lot of minutes and scored 37 points in his last two games alone. Creighton is playing better after a rough patch in December, but this team can still be had. Good shooting guards like Locke can give them issues. Locke is a bit scoring--dependent, but he's a great GPP value play with upside.
Also consider: Terquavion Smith, North Carolina State ($8,900); El Ellis, Louisville ($8,200); Damion Baugh, TCU ($7,500); Santiago Vescovi, Tennessee ($7,300); Casey Morsell, North Carolina State ($6,700); Miles Kelly, Georgia Tech ($6,200); Joe Toussaint, West Virginia ($5,300); Milos Uzan, Oklahoma ($4,900); Tamar Bates, Indiana ($4,500)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards
Trayce Jackson-Davis, Indiana ($10,100)
TJD might have to sit out with a sore back sometime soon from carrying the Hoosiers with Xavier Johnson and Race Thompson both out. Jalen Hood-Schifino helps him a lot on offense, but TJD is doing everything else. He still had a strong game against a good Penn State team. The ceiling should be a lot higher against Wisconsin.
Kevin Cross, Tulane ($8,200)
With many of these conference tilts being touch matchups, I find myself gravitating toward Tulane. The Wave are playing very well right now and they have comparatively easy matchups compared to many teams on this slate. Cross has at least 25 DraftKings points in five straight games. He is reaching the form he had back in November. Cross is a good rebounder and capable scorer and has at least a puncher's chance of getting us a double-double at a reasonable price.
Jordan Wright, Vanderbilt ($5,900)
Wright doesn't have a lot of upside, but he consistently scores in the 20s for DraftKings points. He's a strong value play that won't tank your lineup. Forward is tough today since it is loaded at the top and relatively weak in the middle and at the bottom. There are plenty of mines here that can destroy a good lineup, but Wright isn't one of them. Something can be said for that.
Sam Godwin, Oklahoma ($4,000)
The Sooners did a great job against Kansas in Allen Fieldhouse, but they still couldn't pull out their first win at the Phog since I was a sophomore in high school. Godwin doesn't play a ton of minutes, but he is a high-energy guy when he is on the court. The Sooners like to use the Groves brothers together, but how long can they survive with Jacob underachieving? Godwin deserves more minutes. Even if he doesn't get them, he's a nice value with a stable floor.
Also consider: Oscar Tshiebwe, Kentucky ($11,000); Norchad Omier, Miami ($8,400); Ed Croswell, Providence ($7,700); Liam Robbins, Vanderbilt ($7,200); Tyrese Samuel, Seton Hall ($6,200); Jalen Hill, Oklahoma ($5,700); Tylan Pope, Tulane ($4,400); Jordan Geronimo, Indiana ($3,900)
