And then there were two. We have made it to the pinnacle of a baseball season that some thought may never happen. It has been a wild season and now it's the Phillies and Astros for the World Series title. Are you ready? Here we go!
For showdown mode on DraftKings, we pick one captain who costs 1.5x his normal salary, but he also scores 1.5x the points. We must have at least one player from each team and relievers are fair game if you think you have a bead on which relievers will be used. On FanDuel, the format is a bit different. No player salaries are multiplied, but you get one MVP who scores double points and one start that scores 1.5x points along with three utility slots. Oh...and it's only hitters.
This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/29/22. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. It’s also important to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. MLB DFS Captain Options
Framber Valdez ($16,200)
Framber dominated the Phils over five innings in his last regular season start, allowing just two hits while striking out ten. TEN! He has also won both of his postseason starts as well. Since the calendar flipped to October, Framber is back to his normal dominant self after he looked human at the end of September. If you're anchoring with a pitcher, I'd lean to Framber.
Kyle Tucker ($12,000 DK; $7,000 FD)
Tucker smashed two homers in Game 1 of the World Series and gets another right-handed pitcher in Game 2. Wheeler has still been strong since his return, but it was the starters who got knocked around last night. The bullpens looked good on both sides, but they also got a lot of work. I'm on Tucker as the most likely to get to Wheeler tonight.
Star/MVP options: Bryce Harper ($9,000), J.T. Realmuto ($6,500)

DraftKings/FanDuel DFS Utility Options
Along with the others I consider for the captain slot, these can be good utility plays as well.
Bryce Harper ($10,000 DK; $9,000 FD)
Harper continued his hot hitting with another two hits in Game 1 of the World Series. That's 11 straight games with a hit this postseason for Harper. That is also three straight multi-hit performances. He's facing a lefty today, but I'm not even sure that matters right now. That's how good Harper has been.
J.T. Realmuto ($7,800 DK; $6,500 FD)
Realmuto drove in half of the Phillies' runs last night with a homer and a double. He also walked in the contest, reaching base three out of the five times he went to the plate. If someone gets to Framber tonight, I would look to Realmuto over anyone else.
Alex Bregman ($6,200 DK; $5,500 FD)
Sometimes us DFS players get caught up in all-or-nothing players and ignore the free points. Gurriel doesn't have a ton of power – he only hit ten homers all season – but he does have a six-game hitting streak going with three multi-hit games in that span. He's getting on base and scoring runs. That translates well to DFS and he's really cheap as far as showdowns go.
Other Options: Kyle Schwarber ($9,600 DK; $7,000 FD); Rhys Hoskins ($8,800 DK; $8,500 FD); Jeremy Pena ($8,600 DK; $6,500 FD)
