Welcome to the September 8th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 7th games. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- How quickly can Ronald Acuna Jr. get you the requested value? You might get spoiled with four HR and two SB in four days. If only he had his battle buddy (Ozzie Albies) with him.
- Just so Ian Anderson doesn’t get too big for his britches, the Marlins serve some Humble Cobbler. (3 IP, 1 ER, 4 BB, 4 K). Nats next.
- Rhys Hoskins (nine) with eight urgent telegrams & .309 AVG in the last 13 games. Get out of his way. He’s FB focused (60%).
- Andres Gimenez love continues to flourish.
- J.T. Realmuto tries to explain. “Don’t judge me by my ‘C’ designation.” Judge me by my 10 HR, 54 R+RBI, & 4 SB…at the catcher spot.
- No Nelson Cruz, No problems. Michael Pineda did all the dirty work. 7 IP, 2 ER, 8 K. I would have paid more for this work of art.
- You heard it echo throughout the stadium as Byron Buxton’s 416-foot broadcast screamed “Yahtzee!"
- Dear 2021 league mates, please consider this humble request. I ask only that one of you draft Kris Bryant before the sixth round so I’m not tempted. It’s better for my health & well-being.
- Kyle Hendricks is back (8 IP, 1 ER, 4 K). MIL next.
- Phillip Ervin is not only making his AVG (.089) disappear, but also any dynasty relevance.
- Marco Gonzales looks good (7 IP, 2 ER, 7 K). **Anyone looks good standing next to the Rangers**
- Dang, Max Scherzer (7 IP, 8 K). Have you no heart? The Rays have family too.
- Randy Arozarena w/ 4 HR, 1 SB, .417 AVG in 17 AB. Do you know what this means? Get out there & SELL! SELL! SELL! in dynasty leagues.
- In this flip-flop inside out world of 2020, Austin Meadows has become a terrible hitter while Clint Frazier has succeeded. Color me confused.
- Three percent of people jumped on the Nate Lowe train a little early. Not sure if that is smart. Not because of him, because of the Rays.
- Edward Daniel Olivares, you better stop that getting caught stealing stuff. Faster! Get the lead out!
- **Breaking News** The level of devastation is indescribable. The suffering of so many people across the land (79%). In support of everyone, {Anonymous restaurant} is offering a combo meal on this day only to all those who roster Adalberto Mondesi.
- Zach Plesac is remorseful. Offers 7 IP, 1 ER, 4 K as an olive branch. **Yeah, sure, see how many olives you get from that branch.”
- Ladies & Gents, Welcome to Ripley’s Believe it Or Not! First we have Jordan Montgomery…as a starting pitcher. (The crowd gasps)…all the while…we have Clarke Schmidt as a reliever. (There is shock & disbelief amongst the crowd. One man even had a syncopal episode.)
- Danny Jansen invited everyone to Dennys to enjoy a Grand Slam. Only 10% showed up. Maybe it’s because of the 84.9 mph avg exit velo.
- Luke Voit, carrying a card, visited the convalescing Teoscar Hernandez. Hernandez shed a tear as he read the card “Stay strong! We are the 14-HR club."
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr. shows he’s multi-faceted with his first SB.
- Kevin Gausman outduels Zac Gallen **Ahem, you know it doesn’t work that way. Why do you say it like that?** Ok, Gausman wins (6 IP, 1 ER, 9 K). Gallen loses (5 IP, 4 ER, 6 K). Better?
- Chris Bassitt brings the Astros to their knees. (7 IP, 4 K). Underrated at only 42% rostered. Grab him everywhere for next start (TEX).
- Trevor Story knows what you need. He sacrifices power (nine), just to help where it’s needed most (12 SB). MLB SB leader!
- Fernando Tatis Jr. is not happy to be trailing in any category. He adds a SB of his own (eight).
- Endgame
- Brad Hand (12). Your SV leader & many wanted to avoid him.
- Daniel Hudson (eight). One out saves are the best.
- Yohan Ramirez (three). 22.7% BB rate. Ugh!
- Hector Neris (three).
- Nick Vincent (three). Two-straight bad outings by Brandon Kintzler (BS), but he gets the win.
- Sam Coonrod (two).
- Happy Tuesday morning. First workday of the week. No, don't think of it like that. There are only four days left. Fall is racing to us. Get your summer chores done.
- Be honest with yourself. If you are not paying all your leagues, you may need to drop some in 2021.
