ANALYSIS: The Milwaukee Brewers called up their No. 18-ranked prospect, Craig Yoho, ahead of their series opener against the San Francisco Giants on Monday. Yoho has quickly risen up the minor league ranks since being drafted in the eighth round of the 2023 MLB Draft.
Although he struggled in his first three minor league appearances at rookie ball in 2023, the right-hander has been one of the best relief pitchers in the minors over the past two seasons. Last year, Yoho finished with a combined 0.94 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 101 strikeouts across 57 2/3 innings pitched at High-A, Double-A, and Triple-A.
The 25-year-old then carried those strong numbers into the start of the 2025 season. In his eight appearances at Triple-A Nashville, he had not allowed one run across nine 2/3 innings pitched to go with nine strikeouts and one save. Yoho also held opposing hitters to just a .152 batting average in those eight relief appearances.
As a result, Yoho will be a great addition to Milwaukee's bullpen this year. He throws one of the nastiest changeups you will ever see and complements that pitch with an above-average sweeping slider. Those two pitches should help the right-hander get many outs for the Brewers in 2025. That makes him a potential add in 12-plus team leagues.

Yoho has shown in the minors that he can maintain a low ERA while striking out batters at a high level. If you are in a saves plus holds league (SV+HLD), then the new Brewers reliever is even more valuable. He should work mostly in the seventh or eighth inning and could eventually see some save opportunities if Trevor Megill is injured or struggling.
So, the 25-year-old is certainly worth an add in some leagues that tally holds. All baseball fans should be excited to watch that lethal changeup in action.
