Mekhi Becton's Season Is Over
3 years agoNew York Jets left tackle Mekhi Becton (knee) will not practice at all this week and won't play in Week 18's regular season finale against the Buffalo Bills, so his season is officially over. Becton underwent knee surgery and only played in the season-opening loss to the Carolina Panthers. The Jets were hoping that the 22-year-old would be able to return later this year, but it just never happened. His replacement, George Fant, suffered a left knee injury in the Week 17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is seeking multiple opinions on his injury. It seems unlikely that Fant will be able to play this Sunday, so Conor McDermott would be in line to protect rookie quarterback Zach Wilson's blind side against the Bills.
