Albert Okwuegbunam Leads Broncos In Receiving In Week 15
3 years agoIt's usually not a good sign when your backup tight end leads the team in receiving yards. That's exactly what happened for the Denver Broncos in their 15-10 Week 15 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Backup tight end Albert Okwuegbunam caught three of his four targets for a team-high 58 receiving yards. The 58 yards were the second-most for Albert O this year, but he's become a bigger part of the offense in recent weeks, drawing 13 targets in the last three games while also scoring his second touchdown of the season in Week 14. As long as Noah Fant stays healthy, though, it's hard to envision Okwuegbunam doing enough to warrant serious consideration as anything other than a touchdown-dependent TE2 in a low-scoring Broncos offense.
