Darren Waller Avoids Serious Knee Injury
3 years agoLas Vegas Raiders Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller (knee) suffered only a strained IT band in his knee in the Thanksgiving overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, according to sources. It's very good news after it looked like Waller might have suffered a serious knee injury against Dallas. The 29-year-old finished with a disappointing two catches for 33 yards on five targets, but the takeaway here is that he shouldn't be out for the long term for the Raiders and fantasy managers alike. And Waller will have extra time to rest up for a Week 13 date with the Washington Football Team on Dec. 5. Waller is a must-start TE1 anytime he's active, while Foster Moreau would have a bigger role on offense if Waller misses any additional time.
