3 years agoKansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is taking most of the blame for the offense's struggles in 2021, but he said he plans to continue to "take shots" deep down the field despite being 0-for-9 on passes more than 20 yards downfield in the last two weeks, according to NextGen Stats. "Whenever I've got a guy with a chance to make a play downfield, I'm going to give him a chance to make a play," Mahomes said. Head coach Andy Reid said he won't change his play-calling because of the offenses struggles and supports Mahomes' decisions to take deep shots down the field. Until the Chiefs offense turns things around, Mahomes will be more of a midrange QB1, but fantasy managers shouldn't consider benching him for a Sunday night matchup with the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
