Philadelphia Flyers right wing Cam Atkinson might have played his last game for the team. According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the veteran is drawing interest from the San Jose Sharks. However, Atkinson himself reportedly isn't keen on the move. Dreger added that a buyout is also an option with Atkinson, as is keeping him on the team. After missing the entire 2022-23 campaign due to back surgery, Atkinson returned to action this season but was a shadow of his former self. In 70 games, the 35-year-old was able to contribute only 13 goals and 15 assists. Atkinson has one more year left on his current contract, which carries a $5.875 million cap hit.

Philadelphia Flyers right wing Cam Atkinson will be reinserted into the lineup on Saturday versus Calgary. He was scratched for Thursday's clash with Columbus, but Flyers head coach John Tortorella has confirmed that Atkinson will be back in the lineup at the weekend, along with Morgan Frost. After missing the entire 2022-23 campaign, Atkinson hasn't been very prolific during his comeback year. He's tallied eight goals and 18 points in 37 games. The 34-year-old has started to struggle after averaging nearly a point per game in October.

Philadelphia Flyers right wing Cam Atkinson couldn't make his long-awaited return at the start of the week due to a lower-body ailment. He was penciled in to play in Monday's preseason game versus New Jersey, which would've been Atkinson's first outing since April 2022, but the veteran winger was a late scratch for the contest. It's been reported Atkinson is dealing with soreness from a lower-body injury. The issue doesn't sound too bad, and hopefully, it doesn't derail Atkinson's comeback plans. The 34-year-old posted 50 points (23 goals, 27 assists) across 73 games in his last healthy season.

Philadelphia Flyers forwards Sean Couturier (back) and Cam Atkinson (neck) are expected to be on the ice when training camp opens next month, according to the team's president of hockey operations Keith Jones. Both players missed the entire 2022-23 season with injuries. Jones noted that they were already healthy to come back at the end of the season. The duo will be a huge addition to the Flyers, who finished 31-38-13 last term. Couturier is a former Selke Trophy winner who has two 30-goal seasons under his belt and Atkinson is a proven scorer in the league with 236 goals and 216 assists posted in 700 games.
