Jamaal Williams Downgraded Thursday
3 years agoDetroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams (hip, illness) missed practice on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday. Williams is now dealing with an illness, but it doesn't appear related to COVID-19. As long as he gets in a limited practice on Friday, he should be fine to play in Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Believe it or not, Williams has three more carries than D'Andre Swift through five games, gaining 244 yards with two touchdowns on 55 attempts. Swift is dominating usage in the passing attack, but the Lions are leaning heavily on both Swift and Williams without a ton of consistent weapons in the passing game. Swift would obviously have a really high Week 6 ceiling if Williams doesn't play, but if Williams is active he'll continue to have standalone fantasy value as an RB3/flex.
