3 years agoDenver Broncos rookie running back Javonte Williams scored the first touchdown of his NFL career in the 26-0 Week 3 victory over the New York Jets. Other than the touchdown, though, Williams didn't have a very great day, carrying the ball 12 times for 29 yards (2.4 yards per carry). He added three receptions on four targets for 33 yards. The second-rounder saw six fewer carries than backfield mate Melvin Gordon III and also lost a goal-line fumble late in the game. Despite the lost fumble, Williams should continue in a near-even timeshare in this backfield, and it was nice to see him get four targets in the passing game and three carries near the goal line on Sunday. There's plenty of upside here if he eventually takes the lead over Gordon, but for now, the 21-year-old should remain an RB3/flex.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
