3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Luis Patino allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three across 4 1/3 innings during Sunday's 8-7 loss to the Detroit Tigers. He did not factor into the decision. Most of the damage off Patino came from a solo shot by Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario in the fourth inning. He threw 76 pitches, landing 48 for strikes. The Rays right-hander has now thrown less than five innings each in back-to-back starts. Patino owns a 4.62 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 65 strikeouts over 64 1/3 innings in 2021. The 21-year-old is scheduled to take on the Detroit Tigers at home in a rematch on Saturday.
