Byron Buxton Collects RBI, Strikes Out Three Times Wednesday
3 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton went 0-for-4 with an RBI groundout and three strikeouts in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Indians. Buxton didn't have a good day at the plate but still managed to plate a run for Minnesota, his second RBI in the last three games. The 27-year-old has struggled since returning from the injured list, as he's batting just .122 with one homer and two RBI while sporting a poor 31.4 percent strikeout rate. Buxton's exit velocity, barrel rate, and hard-hit rates have all declined during that span, suggesting that his injured hand could still be causing him discomfort at the dish. Considering his struggles at the dish and lack of stolen bases, just one attempt since returning, fantasy managers in need of more value out of their outfield spot can consider dropping Buxton for a more productive option.
