Jaret Patterson Could Backup Antonio Gibson
3 years agoWashington Football Team running back Jaret Patterson will backup Antonio Gibson to start the 2021 season. The team recently cut Peyton Barber, which free's up more snaps for Patterson. In the preseason games for Washington, J.D. McKissic was featured only as a receiver. He will likely have a bigger role in receiving passes rather than running the ball from the backfield. Patterson had 28 carries, 110 yards, and one touchdown. If preseason play has any indication of how the depth chart will look like during the regular season, Patterson will be the second running back in the depth chart, and McKissic could be listed as a WR and third in the running back depth chart. It remains to be seen how Washington utilizes those two players, but Patterson has some redraft value in the late rounds based on his presumed role.
