Jakob Junis Strikes Out Six In His Return

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Jakob Junis was called up from Triple-A ahead of the team's matchup against the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday. He started the game and pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing four hits, one walk and three earned runs while striking out six. The 28-year-old Junis showed flashes of success with the Royals earlier this year, but a rough patch led to his demotion to Triple-A. He continued to struggle at Triple-A this year, making nine starts and going 0-2 with a 5.48 ERA and 1.696 WHIP. If he remains in the Royals' rotation, his next start could come on Monday against the Baltimore Orioles.
