Tyler Gilbert Tagged With The Loss Monday
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks pitcher Tyler Gilbert (1-2) allowed three earned runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out four over five innings during Monday's 7-5 loss to the San Diego Padres. He was hurt by the long ball and surrendered a two-run blast to star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. The southpaw avoided damage and escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fourth inning. Despite taking the loss, the 27-year-old was able to limit the damage against San Diego and exited after 91 pitches. Gilbert owns a 2.93 ERA, 1,16 WHIP, and a 20:10 K: BB across 27 2/3 innings in 2021. The left-hander can be used as a streamer in deep-league formats in Saturday's matchup against the Seattle Mariners.
