Chase Claypool To Play Friday
3 years agoPittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that wide receiver Chase Claypool (ankle) will see action on Friday when quarterback Dwayne Haskins makes his first start for the team in the preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers. Claypool has been out since Aug. 17 after suffering a minor ankle sprain, so this is good news that he's taking the field in the final exhibition game before the regular season. He'll still be a pretty risky DFS play because there's a good chance he won't be on the field for long. The 23-year-old is a freak athlete and is big for a wide receiver, but it makes him a great red-zone weapon -- he scored 11 touchdowns as a rookie. There's a lot of big-play upside here, but does Ben Roethlisberger have the arm to consistently hit Claypool deep? Claypool is exciting, but fantasy managers should target him as a WR3, not a WR2.
