3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Tarik Skubal earned his eighth win of the year after a stellar outing against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday. Skubal pitched six scoreless innings, allowing five hits and a walk while striking out six. He is now 8-10 on the year with a 4.10 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP. He has started off the month of August by pitching 11 scoreless innings. Tigers manager A.J. Hinch announced on Wednesday that most of the team's starters - including Skubal - would get an extra day of rest going forward. That'll be a big hit to Skubal's fantasy value. He likely won't pitch again until next Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels. He's still worth a roster spot in a lot of deep leagues and AL-only leagues, but the extended rest will make him a potential drop candidate going forward, especially if he starts to struggle.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
