Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is gaining interest from the Philadelphia Phillies, who may attempt to trade for him prior to Friday's trade deadline, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. It was reported earlier Sunday that Buxton had rejected a contract extension offer from the Twins, which has added fuel to speculation that he could be traded. Buxton is still on the injured list with a fractured left hand, so that could end up affecting whether or not he is dealt prior to the deadline. In any case, managers should continue to monitor this situation closely.--Michael

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is sitting on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels with right-hander Jose Soriano toeing the rubber for the Angels. Buxton has been productive lately, with three home runs, six RBIs, and a stolen base in the last seven days. On the season, he is now slashing .237/.269/.505 with six home runs, 22 runs scored, and 15 RBI with six stolen bases. This figures to be a planned off day for Buxton, as the Twins go for the sweep on Sunday. Filling in for Buxton will be DaShawn Keirsey Jr. in left field, as Harrison Bader shifts over to center field. Next up for Buxton and the Twins will be a four-game series against the Cleveland Guardians on the road.--Nicho Roessler - RotoBaller

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton decided to bring his power swing with him for this series against the Detroit Tigers. On Sunday, Buxton started off the scoring with a solo home run off right-hander Casey Mize in the first inning. He would later double in the sixth inning as the Twins would eventually get the 5-1 victory. He finished his day 2-for-4 with a homer, double, and two runs scored. Buxton doesn't have a pretty slash line, but he finished with two homers and three RBI during this weekend series with the Tigers. Fantasy managers who have Buxton rostered might want to stick with him a little longer.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is out of the lineup for a second straight game on Thursday in the series finale against the division-rival Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Buxton struck out four times in Tuesday's game in KC and will start the game on the bench once again in favor of Harrison Bader, who is starting in center field and batting ninth against Royals right-hander Michael Wacha. Buxton has gone hitless in seven career at-bats against Wacha, while Bader has hit .364 against the veteran hurler with a .728 OPS in 11 career at-bats. In his first 11 games of 2025, Buxton has been cold offensively, hitting .171 (7-for-41) with a homer, two doubles, four RBI, two stolen bases, one walk and 16 strikeouts in 43 plate appearances. As far as we know, the oft-injured Buxton is healthy. If he's not back in the lineup on Friday against the Tigers, though, something might be up. UPDATE: Buxton has returned home for a personal matter.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton turned in an excellent game in a 6-1 win over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday. Buxton went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer, two runs, and two RBI to help power the Twins to their second win of the season. His homer was a first-inning solo shot off Chicago starter Sean Burke, a blast that traveled 444 feet with an exit velocity of 111.7 MPH. Buxton had been off to a slow start before Wednesday as he came into the game with just two hits in 17 at-bats. He will look to keep it going as the Twins open up a four-game series against the Houston Astros on Thursday.--Matt T - RotoBaller
