Dodgers Acquire Billy McKinney From Mets
3 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers acquired outfielder Billy McKinney on Wednesday from the New York Mets in exchange for minor league outfielder Carlos Rincon. McKinney, a former first-round pick of the Oakland Athletics in 2013, hit just .220/.304/.473 with five home runs and 14 RBI in 102 plate appearances before the Mets designated him for assignment. The 26-year-old left-handed hitter is a worthy flier for outfield depth for the Dodgers, but on a crowded and stacked Dodgers roster, it'll be hard for him to carve out much playing time. Rincon, 23, had put up a .263/.343/.470 slash line with an impressive 12 home runs, 48 RBI and two stolen bases in 63 games for Double-A Tulsa before the trade.
