Jake Rogers Hits Grand Slam In Loss To Twins
3 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher Jake Rogers came through with a clutch ninth inning grand slam against the Minnesota Twins on Sunday. The grand slam gave the Tigers a 9-8 lead, but the Tigers' bullpen was unable to preserve the lead. The Twins went on to win the game 12-9 in 10 innings. Rogers went 1-for-2 overall in the game, walking twice and scoring two runs. The grand slam was his sixth home run on the year. He's slashing .234/.305/.486 over 35 games. Rogers has been sharing catcher duties with Eric Haase, but Haase has been making a lot of starts in the outfield and at designated hitter lately, essentially making Rogers the team's primary catcher for now.
