Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton To Compete For No. 2 Job

New York Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton will compete for the No. 2 job in training camp behind Kenny Golladay. The Giants paid Golladay $72 million to be their top pass-catcher, so he should be expected to play around 90 percent of the offensive snaps. The No. 2 wide receiver role will be important, since the Giants are expected to use a lot of two-tight end formations. The Athletic's Dan Duggan expects Shepard to get more snaps than Slayton, but they could rotate based on matchups and situations with different skill sets. Rookie Kadarius Toney is expected to be brought along slowly. Shepard will be more attractive than Slayton in PPR leagues out of the slot, but that could change as the season goes on based on performance and whether Toney earns a bigger role as the season progresses.
